4 mil Safety and Protective Film

The Kraft Films 4 mil Safety and Protective Glass Film is 112 microns thick. It turns glass and mirror surfaces into reinforced ones and suits offices, homes and commercial spaces.

Adhering to the EN12600 1B1 safety standard, it stays clear and invisible on the glass.

What the 4 mil Safety Film Does

Our 4 mil, 112 micron film is simple to install and holds the glass together, protecting the room from shattered glass or mirror fragments.

The film strengthens the glass and reduces the risk of breakage from impacts, drafts or active play. With a tensile strength of 20 kg/m², suitable for all glass sizes, this film lasts over nine years.

It is applied to any smooth glass surface. More about this type in our window protection film section.

Where the 4 mil Safety Film Is Used

Ideal for:

  • Interior door and partition glass
  • Furniture glass surfaces
  • Bathroom and shower glass
  • Children's and activity room windows
  • Balcony and banister glass
  • Wardrobe mirrors
  • Glass structures in entryways and conservatories

The 4 mil safety film reinforces glass and mirrors and matters most in places where glass gets broken by accident: it binds splinters and fragments together.

  • Corporate and office environments

This is our main window safety film - see the price and order it below.

How to order 4 mil Safety Film cut to size

  1. Enter the width and height of your glass in whole centimetres - for example, 80 × 120 cm.
  2. The price for your size appears straight away, without registration.
  3. Add the piece to the cart and place the order - we cut it and send it ready to fit.

Cutting is done on a CNC plotter with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. The largest single piece we cut is 280 × 280 cm. Pieces are cut from rolls of professional width 152.4 cm, so anything wider is made in two parts - before such an order goes into production we contact the buyer and agree how the piece is divided. Running metres are also available, and orders are sent across the UK by UPS or FedEx.

The 4 mil (112 micron) anti-shatter film is not the same as a glass security film. For defence against burglary and break-ins, choose the thicker 8 mil or 12 mil options.

4 mil Anti-Shatter Film: Easy Install, Durable Protection

Installation of the 4 mil Anti-Shatter Film is straightforward, requiring no removal of glass from frames. It fits with minimal edge gaps. It also works under other films - decorative or frosted ones can be applied on top.

Key Points About the 4 mil Film

  • The 4 mil anti-shatter film is not a security film. For theft protection choose thicker options such as 8 or 12 mil films.
  • The adhesive of the 4 mil anti-shatter film reaches its maximum bonding strength within 2-3 weeks.
  • The film can be replaced if needed, but removal is harder than with other films because of its strong adhesive and thick material.
