Omg 20 – Solar Window Tint Film

Solar and heat protection

The metallised layer reflects solar energy before it heats up the room: Omg 20 rejects 84% of total solar energy and cuts glare, so you can work at a screen or watch TV on a bright day without blackout curtains. A solar heat window film makes the biggest difference in rooms with large, sun-facing windows – living rooms, offices, classrooms and conservatories.

Which solar tint to choose? Start with your windows

The rule is simple: the darker the tint, the more effective the sun protection. So choose by window size – the bigger the glass area, the darker it should be.

• Omg 10 – the darkest and most effective (TSER 91%). For special cases: server rooms and large glazed walls where maximum heat rejection matters more than daylight. See Omg 10.
• Omg 20 – the standard choice for large windows. Very effective, but not the darkest.
• Omg 35 – a light tint for smaller windows: the most daylight, the least protection of the three. See Omg 35.

In the light range you can also look at Bronze AT 35 Ex and Infinity 35 – gentle sun protection for smaller windows with plenty of natural light.

Interior installation – and the exterior option

Omg 20 goes on the inside of the glass. An interior tint is the easiest to fit yourself, is not exposed to the weather, and lasts for over nine years. If you need to protect the glass from the outside instead, choose Omg 20 Ex – the exterior version of the same tint.

Daytime privacy – a one-way effect as a bonus

The same metal layer gives a one-way effect: during the day it is hard to see in from outside, while your view out stays clear. The darker the tint, the stronger the effect.

Note: the effect depends on the light difference between the two sides – in the evening, with lights on inside, it reverses. If privacy is your main goal, see our one way mirror film section.

From the outside the glass gets a sleek silver mirror finish – a nice side effect, not the main job of this solar tint.
